Our Mission & Vision

Our goal is to assist individuals in discovering and sustaining their faith.

Mission & Purpose

Eltham Christian Harvest Centre exists to Glorify God. We desire to Reach and Serve our community, Connecting and Growing them in Christ’s Love.

John 3:16 reads, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

This famous passage from Scripture challenges us to consider why God would offer such a great gift to humanity – one who could potentially choose to reject it.

Yet despite our sinfulness and inability to fully appreciate His love, God continually shows compassion and offers salvation through Jesus Christ.

In understanding what this verse means for us, we can find comfort knowing that there is hope for anyone who accepts Jesus as their Savior.

Our Beliefs & Values

Christian beliefs differ from other churches in a few key ways. Christian teachings emphasize that humans are sinful and need redemption through Jesus Christ. Other churches may teach that people can achieve salvation by themselves or through different forms of religious practice unrelated to Christianity. Christians also believe in the Trinity, which is the belief that there exists one God who is three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Unity

One of the purposes of Christianity is to bring unity within a church body. We are united in faith the same beliefs and values, working together on charitable causes, and supporting one another in times of need.

Community

When it comes to Christianity, the community is key. Christians believe that the love of Christ is best demonstrated through service and giving back to those around them. This spirit of community is what drives Christians to be leaders in their communities and help make a positive impact on everyone they encounter.

Love

Christians are not perfect yet but are commanded to love others by God. We have been forgiven and have the opportunity to learn from our mistakes to be more loving people. Christ’s love is shown through His example and is what we should aim for in our relationships.

Salvation

Salvation is the key to a relationship with Jesus. Once we have been saved, He becomes our closest friend and source of strength and guidance. In His love, we are able to overcome anything life throws at us.

Eternity

The eternal life that Jesus offers is a much better life than anything we could ever experience on our own. By accepting his offer, we can bypass the trials and tribulations of this world and be with him in heaven forever. Through faith in Jesus, we can have the assurance that he will always be there for us, no matter what happens in this life.

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

– MATTHEW 28:19

Who We Are

Pastoral

Church teams and leadership are essential to the success of any fellowship. Systems and protocols must be in place in order for ministries, events, outreach efforts, decisions, etc., to run smoothly. As a Christian institution, we are governed by the Assemblies of GOD (AOG) NZ.  The Assemblies of GOD (AOG) NZ is a national body that oversees the activities and governance of churches in New Zealand.

We are a family-orientated church, where I believe it is important that our children and youth are also nurtured and are an integral part of the church.

Reaching, and serving our community in whatever way God directs us, is an important part of what we do in our community.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to tithe?

In the Bible, Abraham presented a tenth of his war spoils to Melchizedek, the king of Salem. Jews brought 10% of their harvest to a storehouse in the Old Testament in case of famine and general communal welfare; this is partly why many Christians believe that tithing is an integral part of their faith.
Tithing is a tradition in many communities where individuals give a portion of their earnings to charity.
Even though tithing is not mentioned in the Bible, many people desire to contribute to help with operating expenses for their house of worship. If you want to help the community, please visit our giving page.
